Exercise Training

To some the word exercise might stir up, some dreaded images and feelings. While to others it sparks energy and excitement. I can relate to both 😊

Our past experiences and journey do have a strong influence on our feelings toward exercising. In my experience it started as a positive one, fueling my passion for sport and physical activity, and gaining my honors degree in Sport Science. However, it too became a negative experience when I began developing a terrible body image as a young teenager. As I entered by early twenties, I used exercise as a tool to keep what I thought was a good, healthy body, but was in fact very destructive.

This excessive exercising, combined with my stressful corporate job, led to many injuries.

When I started to feel the stress affecting my physical health and body, I knew it was time for change.

This has led me to research different exercise regimes.

Having done long, steady-state cardiovascular workouts for over 15 years, in the form of running, it led to many injuries.  About three to four years ago I encountered a serious and painful one. I had to sadly slow down on the passion I had build up towards my running. On the positive side, I was able to train myself, who has more fast-twitch muscle fibers (ideal for sprint like activities) to become an endurance runner.

I have also been doing strength training in the form of kettlebell and weight training, flexibility, agility, balance, coordination an anaerobic training. All forms of these trainings have added value to my overall body health.

Recently with the popularity of the scientifically based seven-minute workout, I tried it, loved it and gained valuable benefits from it.

There are so many different forms of exercise exactly right for everyone. I love to make room for all forms for my own training and within my practice for my clients.

For those who have had exercise experience, the 30-minute HIIT workout series might just be what you need to improve all the other areas of your training.

For those wanting to concentrate on all areas of training, and have a program developed specifically to meet your needs, then the 60-minute traditional sessions will be best suited to you.

Testimonials

Attie Pretorius

I have worked with Namita as my personal trainer since September 2020. She displays an immense deal of competency and eagerness, which makes it a pleasure to work with her. She applies herself 100% to her duties. She is very hardworking and without fail goes “the extra mile” to ensure that clients’  expectations are met.

She plans every session meticulously and memorizes the sequence of exercises. She demonstrates every exercise in detail  and explains the reason for the  exercise.

Every session with her is different. She often researches new exercises and shares her knowledge. She is always enthusiastic and friendly. I always look forward to my session with her. I have already seen positive results in my fitness, strength and flexibility.
